Ubuntu Nvidia Graphics Card Drivers


To download the latest drivers for your Nvidia graphics card, you may need help identifying your specific graphics card and use case.

To Identify the graphics card in Ubuntu follow the steps below:

  • Open the terminal  
  • type in lspci | grep VGA

This will list the active video adapters including the Intel graphics chip and the Nvidia graphics card.


There are 2 different variants of the drivers. The Linux Long Lived Branch (LLB) is for more stable software like photo and video editing.


The Linux Short Lived Branch (SLB) is the more cutting edge drivers that will eventually be input to the LLB driver after future updates.
